Aaron Judge Breaks Slump, Yankees Snap Skid

Yankees Take Opener Against Orioles

Aaron Judge hit his 33rd home run of the season on Friday night, his first RBI in over a week, and the New York Yankees took the opener of their three-game series against the Baltimore Orioles, 6-3.

Yankees End Skid

The Yankees entered the game having lost 17 of their last 23 games, and they were in desperate need of a win against the first-place Orioles. Judge's home run gave the Yankees an early lead, and they never looked back.

The Yankees added three more runs in the third inning on a bases-loaded walk by Gleyber Torres and a two-run single by Anthony Rizzo. The Orioles got two runs back in the fourth on a home run by Ryan Mountcastle, but the Yankees added another run in the fifth on a sacrifice fly by Jose Trevino.

Orioles Fall Short

The Orioles had a chance to rally in the ninth inning, but they were unable to score with runners on first and second and two outs. The Orioles have now lost five of their last six games.

Judge Breaks Slump

Judge's home run was his first since July 5, and it snapped a streak of 0-for-16. The Yankees will be hoping that Judge's home run will jump-start his season and help the team get back on track.
