The 31-year-old defender has been linked with a move to Saudi Arabian club Al Nassr, who are managed by former Roma boss Rudi Garcia.
Funes Mori joined Cruz Azul in January 2023 from Spanish side Villarreal, but he has struggled to make an impact in Mexico, making just 10 appearances in all competitions.
Cruz Azul are currently bottom of the Liga MX standings, and Funes Mori's departure is likely to be seen as a sign that the club is looking to rebuild under new coach Raul Gutierrez.
